COR Disco Bus to the Vintage Festival!

Thank you thank you to those of you who brought a ticket for the COR Disco Bus to Vintage and a big apology to those of you who missed out.
The plan has finally been finalised for Sat 14th Aug and we can now share it with you.
The pick up point in Southsea to leave for the Vintage Fest will be The Little Johnny Russells.
Get there for 12noon and have a glass of vino on us. Just show them your disco bus ticket.
The COR Disco leaves LJR at 1pm on the button. We can’t wait for anyone past this time because we wanna see Mick DJ and he starts at 1:30pm. If you’re not there to leave at 1pm, you’ve missed the bus. So make sure you get there before then!

For the return journey, the bus will be leaving at 2am.
Again, you gotta make sure you’re at the bus before 2am if you wanna catch it home. It’s your responsibility to be there if you need it. Both Tim and I won’t be in any fit state sort anything out by that time so please, if you need to get home on the bus, make sure you’re there before 2am. It’s a long walk home!
Think that’s about it for now. Looking forward to this bigtime, gonna be a belter of a day. Hope the weather stays good!
See you at the LJR’s for glass of vino before we set off and if anyone has any other questions before then, just give us a shout (hello@c-o-r.co.uk) .
Big Love.
Like COR Music? Listen to COR DJs

The COR parties, after just the two and a half years of kicking out quality underground disco knees ups are now a bit of a Southsea fave.
But the COR parties themselves only happen every once in a while. Boo.
The COR parties are all about the drama. Every time we put one on we want it to be a pantomime, over the top and a bit of an occasion. But even with the elaborate décor, projections and sound systems, the CORE of COR is the music. Pure, unadulterated, underground disco, house and balearia, all served up by the 7 COR ressies.
We are so very lucky at COR to have such a tight crew at the centre of The Civilisation Of the Rough. Every single member of the COR fam have a deep seeded love for disco and understand it’s influence on the other music we love.

But even though we all share this love of disco, we all have our own takes on how and what we play. From the old to the new, the upfront to the dubby, from the housey to the Balearic, there a 7 different DJs who each have their own take on disco that completely complements the rest of the group. Perhaps this is why the COR parties have been so popular? Who knows.
Anyway, although the COR parties only take place once in a while, the COR ressies are always up to something else in and around Southsea town and beyond.
Just this weekend our disco ambassador Matt Seeney was working his disco magic on a side project ‘Unicorn Dream presents Sparklehouse’ at The Hobby Horse in London. He can also be found on a regular basis spinning discs at the Brick Lane fav The Big Chill Bar.
The weekend before last, our COR disco vets Big Mick Hood and the south coast ledge Steve Laming were hosting yet another of their wonderful Mirrorball soirées across the water in Gosport. Keep your ears pricked for more Mirrorball coming back to Southsea village for bank hol blow out too.
As if Mick doesn’t get enough of a work out on Mirrorball duty, he has been invited personally by Greg Wilson to play at the wonderful Vintage Festival at Goodwood in a couple of weeks time, Sat 14th Aug. What an honor, and testament to the quality to this disco vets skills, not to mention his gargantuan collection of original disco pressings.
Along side Mirrorball, Steve is also busy with the occasional visit up down London town to spin some of his finest cuts at ‘The Soul Night Out’ with old funk brother Owen Wasington.
Leon Windsor, our resident Balearic aficionado is spending a lot of time in the studio of late. If he’s not creating or remixing aural deliciousness under his Ladysmith or Hush Money guises (check the COR album coming very soon!) he’s working relentlessly with old production chum Triggs on their latest and greatest projects.
Another studio project taking shape at the mo is a collaboration between disco vet Steve Laming and COR gob Mark Persaud. Rumour has it they will be returning to the studio imminently to add the finishing touches to their first track, a chuggy disco floor burner they are just itching to air.
Mark (under the guise of ‘Who is Dave Balard?’) is also tied up at the moment with COR stable mate Rosko Siffredi in putting the finishing touches to their new club night foray away from COR, ‘The Carbaret Voltaire’, which brings their love of all things house and disco colliding head first to produce deep, dubby, disco et house vibe on a monthly basis.
So, as you can see, lots going on with the COR boys over and above the wonderful COR parties themselves.
If you love COR and you love the music, keep you eye on what else is coming out of the COR stable and get involved. You don’t have to wait until the next COR party to get your underground disco fix.
Sign up on the COR site http://C-O-R.CO.UK to be kept up to date on all things disco, not just from COR, but from all the COR Fam are up to and more.

COR are heading to VINTAGE!!
Hello Disco Bunnies and COR Scallies, it’s been a while, hope all is peachy with you!
Unless you’ve been living in a cupboard for the last couple of months, you’ll probably have heard about the brand new festival taking place at Goodwood called VINTAGE.
This shiny new festival looks absolutely ER-MAZE-IN!! This wonderful new festival takes place over 3 day and is a celebration of 5 decades of everything cool about British culture, from the music to fashion, film to art, you name it they got it covered. And it will be taking place pretty much on our doorstep!
The whole festival looks absolutely incredible, just take a look at the amazing website they have set up when you have a few minutes to spare or when your bored at work, they really are pulling out ALL of the stops.
So many different stages and areas covering pretty much every genre from the last 50 years, but the two stages that are getting us all VERY excited here at COR Towers are the Roller Disco Arena and the Warehouse.
These two wonderful stages will be playing host to some of the most wonderful and influential disco and house DJ’s to have emerged from these fair shores. If you like COR, this will be right up your street, so
much so that many of the legendary DJ’s we’ve had as guests at our little soirée by the sea will be putting in headline sets at Vintage!…
Bill Brewster
Ashley Beedle
Michael Cook
Greg Wilson
…In fact, Greg Wilson is the curator for the Roller Disco and Warehouse stages and he has hand picked the pioneers who have built the amazing disco and house scenes and who have promoted some of the most legendary parties ever to have been hosted. This really will be an amazing weekend, I’m so excited I think I may pop.
Check out the line up for the Roller Disco and the Warehouse here.

A Massive Thank YOU!! and photos…
Wow! What a party!! Just a quick one to say a super massive THANK YOU to everyone who made it along to the COR Great Easter Bonnet Boutique this Easter Sunday. It really was a COR of epic proportions and our VERY special guest, the wonderfully humble yet uber legend DJ ALFREDO literally owned the COR dance floor with his amazing Balearic musical journey he was happy to lead us through the night with. He really did live up to the hype, and more. This man is a wizard behind the turntables and rightly deserves his place in the history of House music.
HE WAS JUST BRILLIANT!! The night was just brilliant. YOU LOT were just brilliant! This was one of the best COR soirées yet!
Such an er-maze-in effort on the bonnets, and outfits, too! Mr and Mrs Parmiter had a VERY difficult time with the judging and took quite some time to deliberate over who should win the Prize. Well, there was a trip to Ibiza at stake here!!
A huge thanks to the Parmiters for volunteering themselves for such a difficult task, rather them than me! Also, a huge thanks for such a generous donation toward this wonderful first prize, we really wouldn’t have been able to offer a prize of this magnitude without your generosity. Thank you!
The winners were announced at the party, but we will post pics of the winning headgear on this site very shortly incase you missed it.
To mark this very special occasion and huge success of DJ ALFREDO coming to visit our lil club night by the sea, we will be printing a VERY limited run of t-shirts featuring the ‘DJ Alfredo – 2010: a balearic odyssey‘ artwork, based on the original artwork from DJ Alfredo’s favourite film and source of inspiration ‘2001 : a space odyssey‘.
The run will be very short indeed, just 10 t-shirts, making these a bit of a collectors item.
To bag yourself one of these hot tees, drop us a line with your size here. They will be just £20 each.
The photos of this wicked night are now available for your viewing pleasure on the COR website – Click here to take you to the Gallery page.
You can also see these snaps on the COR Flickr page – Just click our shiny new Flickr button to the top right of the page to be taken to our Flickr photos.
These wonderful snaps are care of friend of COR Dean Howard from Centro Design. Big big Thank You for coming along and for all your help Dean, muchly appreciated!
♥ Click Here for the Photos ♥
That’s bout it for now. Enjoy the snaps, they’ll be more to follow shortly and if you have any snaps of the night you’d like to share on the COR website, click here to drop us a line! Thanks again for making this an unforgetable night – COR Loves you! Big Love. It’s Almost Here!!…
