My name is Matt Seeney and i’m proud to say i’m a resident DJ for Southsea’s wayward disco parties Civilisation Of The Rough & also it’s balearic offshoot called Gettano. I also play for The Big Chill Bar regularly and have worked with disco crews on the South Coast and in London for a while now, spreading groove based music around the South. In times of a downturn it’s all about uniting the tribes because its been proven Disco really is the only thing to make you feel alright about unpaid bills,  shit weather and working for the man. I spin dubbed out cosmic disco, balearic boogie, deep house and punk funk/new wave disco. It’s got to be chugged out, twinkly and deep or it wont make the crate. Also throwing down a bit of Foals mid-set might happen, being a secret indie kid at heart?! Gigs of late include sets for GoBang!!! in Brighton and future DJ sets include playing for ‘Hello My Name Is…..’ and for Lloyd and Faz at Nocturnal real soon (2 top Southampton parties on a disco/soul/funk tip -check em!). DJ heroes include Bill Brewster, The Idjut Boys, Michael Cook, Todd Terje, Mudd ….and also Portsmouth’s very own MsMono who i play records with all the time. Anytime you want a tune ID just ask – I’m not shy with the info and love a bit of trainspotting myself. 10 years behind the turntables and still so much to learn….
