COR Album Cover… Sneeky Peek!
Here’s a sneeky peek at he COR Moment mix album cover!
We’ve put the Moments album together to try and sum up the last two years of COR and our journey so far. Because of this, we decided the album artwork should reflect this too.
Every single element of the album artwork has been used before in the making of COR. Whether it’s been part of our posters, flyers, back drops, stage props, projections, badges, stickers, signs, tees or our website, you will have seen these featured characters and elements before somewhere at COR.
The album cover art also comes complete with a commentary expertly word smithed by our very own COR mixing boy Leon Windsor, giving you a run down of the tracks and reasons from the COR selectors as to why they decided to choose the tracks they did for inclusion on the album.
Don’t forget the launch party for our Moments album is Saturday 25th Sept. This is only a 100 capacity event, in the vein of the initiate soirées we started out with. Every ticket purchased will get a FREE copy of the album on the night, but do hurry if you want to get involve, tickets have already started to fly. Dont sleep on this!
Here’s a link to the events dets on this site :

COR Moments – Album Launch Paar-tay!!
Hello COR Scallies and Disco Bunnies, hope all is peachy with you all.
It been a long time coming, but it’s finally here – We’re launching our very own COR mix Album!
We wanted to put something together between the 7 of us that not only mean something to us but would also help sum up the essence of COR journey thus far. … So, we each picked two of our favourite all time tracks (not an easy job at all I can tell ya!) and handed them to Mr ‘Uncle Welshy’ Windsor to take into the studio to mix up a storm.
After numerous visits studios and one completed album that we decided to bin as it didn’t quite meet our rigorous COR quality control (it was good but not quite good enough!) we finally have a completely polished, COR approved 1hrs 19mins and 48sec disco journey for your personal delectation and delight, straight from the hearts of the COR Family.
This is not your straight forward mix album, oh no. Many hours of production have been lovingly poured into the making of this, including a number edits and reworks to harmoniously pull the wide spanning reach of the tracks in the playlist together. Leon, you’ve done a sterling job sir. We hope you like what you hear.
So, on to the paar-tay.

Disco Deviant Mix…
A little treat for the COR Party Contingent to see you into the Bank Holiday Weekend.
New friend of COR and head honcho of Brighton staple Disco Deviant, Pablo Contraband, has kindly passed us a mix to share with the COR scallies and disco bunnies.
Here’s a little intro to the mix and the wonderful Disco Deviant from Mr Contraband himself…
I put this mix together ahead of the Vintage Festival at Goodwood that just happenend in August. What a great weekend that was!
The mix was a pretty off the cuff round up of current tracks doing it at Disco Deviant, a mixture of new tracks from Planet Jumper, Mavis and Jamie Jones and some great edits from The Revenge (Big fave of mine), Jacques Renault who is currently on fire, Rotciv give’s Hopscotch a classy rework, and DJ Butcher and Andy Ash turning in some great edits too.
I love the whole edit thing, particularly being that I only really discovered ‘Disco’ about five years ago, I would not have known about a fair amount of the originals had they not had a re-issue via edits etc. It’s become a bit contentious recently but personally I don’t give a shit how I find out about music, and whether it’s lazy or sacrilege. Truth is I need new stuff to listen to and play out and I have a lot of good quality tracks coming my way via Juno, Soundcloud, CD, email and even the odd bit of vinyl from Phonica / Piccadilly.
I think the mix reflects what is played at our nights quite well, however the guests we have really do inject a lot of variation into the soundtrack and more often than not influence my tastes and turn me onto some new tracks.
Cosmic Boogie has a very specific sound that catches his ear. A bit different to most – he’s given me some cracking stuff.
Rahaan was a real education, playing for 3 hours I could only name 3 or 4 tracks he dropped, Boogie, Electrofunk and some real H.O.U.S.E. Kept us all dancing.
Greg Wilson has been the biggest influence on me since Weatherall in the early 90’s always happy to share track titles and give me some of his edits etc.
Danny Webb is another great DJ I respect his collection and the way he put’s his sets together, he worked at Piccadilly for years so has a broad taste and eclectic collection, not missing many classics. A real good laugh too.
Coming up this weekend we have Nick V (Mona, Paris) visiting us for a basement jam at The Globe in Brighton. We do regular Disco Deviant parties there, suits our vibe. Free Entry Fri 27th Aug 10pm – 3am.
My wife saw Nick playing at his own night Mona last year in Paris, she has since been asking me to get him over. I finally sorted it out so whilst he’s here I decided to get the most out of the weekend, on Saturday Red Greg (Ebonite) will be scooting down from London and we’re going to do a daytime terrace party at Audio together from 3-9pm. Hopefully the weather will be kind to us!
Hope you enjoy the mix. Maybe we’ll do something with the COR boys sometime soon? In the meantime you can keep up with us on our blog http://discodeviant.blogspot.com
Cheers
Pablo

Voco’s new release…
When COR’s mixing boy Leon ‘Uncle Welshy’ Windsor is not supporting the COR cause with his one unique twist on the wonder that is ‘Balearic’, he’s usually busy in the studio with one cohort or another, whipping up aural delights right left and front.
Just lately Leon has been back in the studio working with old time production pal Triggs on new releases for their shiny new label VOCO . A huge departure from COR’s disco and balearic vibe, Leon and Triggs have been tuning up Voco Records to put out House and Techno tracks that really do span the length and breath of these genres.
You can find out more about Leon’s music and production background here, and follows is a message from Leon on the new releases from Voco…
Hi everyone,
First up, thanks for supporting the group and the label- it really is appreciated.
Right then, we’ve got a new release coming on 3rd September…. It’s Acid Trax by Stupid Computer. An electro house behemoth with more than a nod to the classic warehouse sounds of two decades ago, coming in two chunky original versions ranging from main room boom to retro techno flavours. The remixes are also ace, with a classy tech house turn by globetrotting groove merchants Modifier (a Scotland- NZ soundclash no less), a punishing prog-techno workout from hotly tipped newcomer Altered Mode (check her out on Soundcloud) and the slowed down dubby Balearic spacefunk from Southern Cross in their Retrobate guise to round off the package.
You can preview all the mixes on Soundcloud:
http://soundcloud.com/voco-records
Please leave comments and we’d love it if you followed us on there. We will be giving away some unreleased material and ‘private’ mixes on there for followers so we’ll make it your while!
Forthcoming, we have some huge releases, including Modifier’s new thumper, the next Southern Cross installment and we’re also proud to introduce Parisian maestro Xaric to the VOCO family….
Watch this space, there’s plenty more to come and I’m not even mentioning the top shelf remixers we have on board for the next three months….
Thank you for your time- bless you one and all
If you like what you hear, why not sign up to the Voco Records Faceache Group to keep in the loop on future delvelopments.
Good luck with this Leon, good to see your keeping yourself busy outside of COR!
Big Love.

Greg Wilson began DJing back in 1975. A pioneer of mixing in the UK, becoming the first ‘dance music’ DJ hired for a regular weekly session at Manchester’s seminal club, Hacienda, Greg was the first to push the new electronic, post disco records coming out of New York to the UK audience, a sound he dubbed ‘Electro-Funk’. He created the first UK radio mixes for Piccadilly 261 in Manchester back in 1982, and in 1983 he was the first DJ to mix live on TV (The Tube)
Taking a break from the scene at the end of 1983, he returned in 2003 with his own website ‘electrofunkroots, documenting this crucial era in UK dance music. Greg also returned to the clubs, spinning at such renowned nights as Electric Chair, Horse Meat Disco, Fabric & Back 2 Basics! This has lead to many bookings across the continent (including a terrace appearance at the famous We Love Sundays session at Space), with a world tour in 2008 encompassing Japan, Australia, Brazil & the USA.
Since his return to the scene, Greg has literally been on fire. DJ magazine nominated him for an outstanding contribution award, as well as being named amongst their top twenty remixers of all-time. In January 2009 Greg’s reputation was enhanced even further with his Essential Mix on BBC Radio 1 becoming an instant classic, receiving universal acclaim (I have this mix myself and it really is that good! Eclectic isn’t the word, more like out of this world!!!).
